If I share my memories with my writing, maybe I’ll help someone who is alone to laugh, cry or both. I want to be a friend to my readers.

I have a post-grad degree in English Literature and Language in Education. I am currently writing my second novel The Chthonic Lands, and I want more strings to add to my bow. Getting paid to write is my dream job and the opportunity to write any gig that appeals to me will always be a boon.

It is a kind of validation that some one besides myself considers my writing valuable. I have so far self-published two novels and one memoir – I love the process of writing.

Ideally, I’d like to make a living as a writer of “curious” food and travel stories.
After a few false starts, I’m beginning to implement the importance of daily structure and routine, suggested by so many experienced writers. I’m excited about the possibilities.

I have almost 40,000 words worth of ideas I’m down in synopsis/summary form but have no idea where I would direct my rating to once each story is finished. So basically I am looking for help in finding places I can pitch to as well as maybe how to find an agent or even an editor that is reliable and responsive and not crazy expensive would be nice to find. With expansive children’s/ya ideas as well as immersive historically based mythological stories created, I need to find a place I can start directing these stories towards.

Writing is something my teachers, professors, friends, and family have all encouraged me to do. I have written journalistically, research papers, copy, short stories, long-form fiction, and non-fiction.
The missing piece is how to make it a feasible career rather than a hobby and an occasional part of my various career choices.

I’m interested in writing short stories or novellas as well as informational magazine articles. I write for my fitness business newsletter periodically and after reading my articles, people always tell me I should write more, so it would be fun to see if I could actually get paid for doing it!
